Cô bé mồ côi 12 tuổi Mitsuki Kouyama gần như tuyệt vọng khi được chẩn đoán bị ung thư cổ họng. Cô từng hứa với người con trai cô yêu rằng cô sẽ trở thành ca sĩ nhưng căn bệnh quái ác khiến cô không thể hát được. Bất hạnh hơn nữa, hai Shinigami- thiên thần báo tử - Meroko và Takuto bỗng xuất hiện, báo cho Mitsuki biết cô chỉ còn sống thêm được 1 năm. Điều đó càng thôi thúc Mitsuki bước nhanh hơn trên con đường chinh phục mơ ước. Với sự giúp đỡ của phép thuật và hai người bạn mới, Mitsuki quyết tâm trở thành một ca sĩ chuyên nghiệp để gặp được Eichi trước khi quá muộn…
